At least 18 people drowned and eight others went missing after a trawler capsized in a hoar in Dharmapasha upazila of the district this (Tuesday) morning.

Sources said the trawler sank with around 100 passengers near Shoilchapra in Dhamapasha at about 9:00am when it was going to Selborosh from Balijuri.

Rescue workers recovered 18 bodies of them two were children and eight women.

The reason behind the capsize could not be known immediately.
